Jesse,

Hello! My name is Cory Olson and I recently graduated from the University of Texas at Dallas with a B.A. with a focus on UI design. I am writing this to express my interest in the Digital Project and Website Manager Position listed on Hutton’s website.  I did some research into your company's work, and find the “hyperlocal” nature of your agency to be extremely appealing. I believe that my skills uniquely qualify me for your open position and that working for Hutton will allow me to gain community-oriented industry skills to heighten my work and better serve the needs of customers.

While researching Hutton, I was struck by how impressive your videos are, the “hyperlocal” nature of your products, and the importance of the New Mexico community to your company. I believe that community is one of the best ways to cure the pains of life and a solution to so many of the problems today.  Whenever I have struggled, I have found that whether it was my college radio organization or my girlfriend's church, the community has been the solution to my problems.  I am from Texas (don’t hold it against me!) and I was introduced to New Mexico through my girlfriend who was born in Albuquerque. It might sound corny, but I fell in love with your beautiful state as I fell in love with her.   We are hoping to relocate to the area so that she can attend law school at the University of New Mexico and your company's listing piqued my interest. 

During my time in college, I created a wide variety of projects and websites. I have experience in programming in HTML/CSS. I also have a background in web-hosting sites like Netify and website upkeep and maintenance in Framer. In terms of management, I oversaw the successful implementation of websites, organized and hosted events, and helped design social media posts for the University of Texas at Dallas’ UX Club.  In my personal life I am very passionate about music and movies. I hosted a radio show for my University (yes, Radio is still cool) and took all the media studies classes I could (my favorite films are Paris Texas, Perfect Days, and Desert Hearts). 

The most valuable skill I learned in school was how to work with other people in different team settings. I would describe myself as curious (always wanting to learn) and coachable (either from those higher up than me in position or my colleagues on my team).  When it comes to the managerial responsibilities of this task I take a team-based approach to all decisions not moving forward unless everyone agrees with the decision.  

To show my interest in working for your company, I reimagined and built a prototype of your website to showcase my skills. I sincerely appreciate your time and attention to this letter. I would be delighted to discuss how my unique background and enthusiasm for digital media can contribute to Hutton Broadcasting’s continued success.
